What I’ve Found out

In General

  • It’s good to have uBlock Origin installed to avoid capturing heavy ads.
  • You should scroll down the page to load all the assets before capture
  • Pin SingleFile to the Toolbar

Solving Problems

  • Capture might fail If the title is extremely long (n > 255 signs).
    • Chrome – a dialog box will allow you to rename it
    • Firefox – capture fails. To fix this
      1. Press F12
      2. Type document.title = "your title"
      3. Press Ctrl + Enter
  • If capture fails in one browser, use another. I use Firefox and Brave interchangeably

Screenshots

  • If the website is overly long, the screenshot will be cut off at the bottom.
  • I like to convert my screenshots to JPEG XL with 60 quality.
  • If taking a screenshot fails in Firefox
    1. Click on “Copy” instead of “Download”
    2. Paste it into GIMP
    3. Export it as PNG

Bulk Saving

  • When bulk saving on Chrome, turn off “Ask where to save each timeā€¦”
